Summary: Karen is just traveling through Mexico with no discernable destination when she meets Jaime. She quickly falls for his charm and wit and realizes there are secrets in this town, she’s gonna have to figure out. Soon she discovers the town still fears an ancient monastery and the ghost of a madman who they feel still roams the halls.
Overall: This movie isn’t very good at all and just ran amuck with no plot and way too much...running. All Karen seems to do is run from place to place in either real life or her dreams. But the real problem is convincing the audience why we care about her and the town…and they fail. Frankly, this woman has nothing to do, nothing to live for but the moment she shows up to this town, she involves every fiber of her being in everyone’s business. And all the residents find no problem with this. She even seeks to “save” Diane...a girl she accidentally comes across. I mean really…film goes on and she’s quizzing everyone about Jaime’s dad, a guy she just met and people answer as if there is nothing wrong with this. But alas, I felt like the film finished off whatever remained that was good for Russ Tamblyn. Oh so long ago, we have “West Side story” – winner of 10 Oscars...and he’s a major player in one of the greatest films, if not musicals of all time. And this film he has stupid lines, has silly scenes and overall got absolutely disrespected by appearing on print. Comparison: Castle Freak meets Witchcraft |
