Humongous (1982)

Summary: 5 teens have become stranded on an island when their boat crashes, after just having picked up another stranded boater. But this isn’t just any island. It’s got a monster on it…and this one eats humans!           Overall: Despite the fact I felt like all 5 really weren’t good looking enough to justify their character stereotypes, at times this film still kept me interested. The film really is slow and plods along trying to get u scared by the history of this creature and the mother and the dogs and the island. But the film is basically shot in darkness with no lighting...that frankly, I’d be surprised if you ever figured out what was going on. There are very, very few films out there which border on “unwatchable” due to the actually filming of the movie...but this is one of them. The final half of the film is simply too dark to be fun...to be interesting...or to even make out what is actually happening.           Comparison: Friday the 13th Part 2 meets Goonies
