Hide and Creep (2004)

Summary: It’s the town of Thorsby, Alabama and everything is about to change in this small sleep redneck town. Seems the dead are rising out of their grave and coming to life. And it’ll take a grand effort from previously useless individuals to combat them. And when that doesn’t work, just rent a zombie movie and take notes.           Overall: Just don’t know what to make of this film. I thought it was slow...it had trouble focusing early on…and it wasn’t funny at times. But there is no question this film has potential and really had some damn good ideas. Although I didn’t need to see the naked guy, naked…his character and the situations he was in was funny. Especially when the truck driver comes by. Frankly, I was almost convinced after the 35 minute mark, he’d never get his clothes on. As good as the ideas are like with the video store guy giving off his opinions on good/bad zombie movies and also dropping the dead zombie off at the police station, the whole bit of pepsi vs. coke was silly and useless. So I’ll credit the filmmakers for a real interesting film that more than exceeded my very low expectations. But they could have done better too. But go rent this. Prove me wrong.           Comparison: Shawn of the Dead meets Deliverance
