Postmortem (1998)

- written March 1999

James McGregor, the American author of a best-selling book about a child-murdering serial killer, is living in Glasgow. He's hoping to escape his own demons when he used to investigate murders. But then a new killer begins taunting him, first sending him funeral notices of his victims and then leaving bodies in McGregor's garden. Next thing he knows, he's being charged with murder and he hasn't even gotten over his hang-over yet.

Overall: It's a slow film that's actually better than it should be. It had the ability to be a bad direct to video film but actually had some life. Granted much of what works in the film is the cinematography and the settings, but it's not that bad. The acting is weak at times, especially the butchered Scottish accents but hey, no one is perfect. :) Truly, there is much worse out there so if you are looking for something different, give this film a try.

P.S. This was my very first review...March 1999...
