Summary: The Natural Guard gets a distress call from some scientists in the middle of nowhere. They go to check it out, delivering some supplies to and end up seeing no one around. Soon they discover the mountainside has little holes and caves and they’re filled with people trying to kill them. But the reality gets even worse when they realize these people are mutated humans who plan on eating them alive!
Overall: The one good thing I can say about this film…it was better than the original sequel. Of course, it would have been quite difficult not to be. This film plays like a mutated beast action flick, not a horror movie. So much guns, explosions and chases that the horror and scare elements have vanished. And maybe that was their point…but even if it was, they failed on making this a good film. The Guard troops are fairly inept and frankly, so much occurs in the caves with some pretty poor-ass troops that you’d be surprised the mutants lost this battle at all. It just was a fairly blasé film…nothing too flashy or cool…just everyone going through the motions. As for the DVD and the deleted/alternate scenes…nothing special here. The alternate ending was different but sorta of in a “not really” way. Nothing special here. Frankly, I’d skip the film entirely. Comparison: The Hills have Eyes meets Stripes |
