Summary: Retired policeman Bob Carter, his wife, their two daughters and their significant others drive out towards California. But getting lost, scared by nearby jets while on the wrong road, and soon their night is over as a family who lives in the hills, comes a visiting and killing!
Overall: A classic in its time for just being weird and “out there.” Decent cast, some nice ideas and the film slowly tortures you as a viewer as characters disappear. It’s truly about survival of the fittest. Obviously Michael Berryman made out the best from the 2 films but the cast is generally pretty good. The sequel did a better job of scaring and shocking you but the performances here are much more believable and easier to handle. I will say...gives the close proximity of the air force jets...how come the military never noticed anything sooner? Like...even the cars they were driving over!
