Summary: Students from the nearby university head out to the local lake to do testing for water contamination. What they soon come to releases is that the lake is both toxic and filled with mutant creatures. Soon, they’ll end up transforming themselves into creatures if they don’t find an antidote or a way to stop it!
Overall: My biggest problem with the film was the inconsistency. It tired to the cartoon scene transitions but after 20 minutes, forgot to include them. In addition it starts off with some mutant fish in the water, followed later by the mutated creature. But they never truly connected them together. Once they leave the “lagoon,” the fish never get heard from again. My 2nd problem was the acting. At times it’s really bad but for me they actors were more miscast than anything. I just felt like they were all in roles they couldn’t defend. The character of “Shannon” would have been player better by someone else and that actress would have been good, again, somewhere else. No one really fit their characters and therefore I kept hoping their characters would do other things because no one seemed to fit right. Finally, the deleted scenes really included some good plot ideas here and frankly, should have been kept. I buy the re-titling…because frankly “Seepage” is more confusing and bound to be mispronounced than anything. Comparison: Creature from the Black Lagoon meets Wrong Turn |
