2 sisters bent on suicide end up in contact with a giant werewolf. Ginger gets bitten and Bridgette tries to regulate the fall-out. For 2 girls who never cared about anyone before and were introverts, this new twist in their lives has altered the way they see the world and may have made them more willing to come out of their shells...oh that is if the werewolf fangs don’t surface first.
Overall: I had some good luck this week with some truly unique horror films and this is yet another one. For the longest time I stayed away thinking of its potential cheesiness but I wasn’t disappointed. The title is just magnificent and the story is pretty good. Basically you have the older sister being late with puberty and all then getting bit by the werewolf. All her signs of her changing into the monster are being explained by family and friends as her finally “becoming a woman.” Ingenious stuff here and definitely a film to recommend to others. I love it when the mother decides to take the 2 kids out of the city and the method she chooses – nice touch for sure! Comparison: Howling meets Heathers |
