Overall: This is the DVD release of the very popular reality Series from the SyFY channel.

          We follow real-life paranormal investigators Robb Demarest, Dustin Pari, Barry Fitzgerald and Brandy Green as the go from place to place around the world looking to find out what places are truly haunted, and which locations are mostly hype.

          I will admit, I went into the DVD as a pure newbie. Haven't seen this series, the preceding series (Ghost Hunters) or anything following (Ghost Hunters Academy). So in a way I went in with a fairly fresh set of eyes.

          What I liked about it: I liked the fact the "investigators" went in with skepticism and went in trying to find legit explanations for things. Makes them more believable. I also loved viewing the locations, the shots with the castles, or spooky locations. Made me want to visit them.

          What I didn’t like: It was like every breeze or movement was something involving a ghostly hand. Every scene has something where they think something spooky is happening. Regardless of how well-intentioned the investigators start off, they seemed shocked by every sound, breeze, etc. and immediately wondered "could that be a ghost?" Um...sure...but isn't that why you are there? You're looking for ghosts and then shocked you might find one?

          It really was like watching "Blair Witch Project" with the camera work and the like. And yet I think the commercials/breaks in the action sorta take away the momentum each show can start to build with suspense and apprehension.

          Overall, if you haven't caught the show before, it's a nice collection. Sorta weak on DVD extras, but a nice start for the virgin Ghost Hunters fan!
