Summary: A dead Baron Frankenstein is re-animated by his colleague Dr. Hertz showing that the soul does not leave the body on the instant of death. However, his lab assistant, Hans, who is terrible infatuated with a young village girl, ends up in a fight with some neighborhood bullies. The pub owner ends up dead in the fight with the gang, but Hans ends up responsible and is executed. The dead man's daughter is distraught over this and commits suicide. The Baron sees this as a brilliant opportunity and brings her back to life, but with Hans' brain replacing her own. As memories return to the body - Hans' memories in fact - she sets out to pursue and kill those responsible for having sent him to his death.

Overall: This followed “Evil of Frankenstein” and now we see the good Baron trying to learn new ways to bring the dead back to life. It felt really long in the beginning because as you can see, the plot is very deep. There’s a lot of setup going on here. Once you get to the first vengeful killing, it flies from that point on. But I sorta liked everything here. Some really good ideas and a lot of plot and dialogue.

Comparison: A Clockwork Orange meets Flatliners
