Overall: If you’ve read my reviews on Romero’s films, you can probably guess I wouldn’t be a huge fan of the film. And for the most part, this I just another notch in his belt. Another zombie film, with social commentary and just add another log to the fire. So, he’s brought the zombies into 2008...you-tube, internet uploading, etc. And the point was? I will say I did enjoy the inventiveness of the deaths. The defibrillator paddles, the amish zombies, etc. Some nice touches. And you know, had this film been done by anyone else, I might have praised that director for bringing zombies into 2008 and beyond. But I’m still unsure where George is going with his continual remakes of his original zombie film. Is there a point? Are we that bored? Feeling Left out? I think the ending was fairly interesting as you watch the survivors get themselves stuck...so a few reasons the film is worth watching. Comparison: Night of the Living Dead meets Panic Room |
