- Darian Caine is the star of many movies, including "An Erotic Werewolf in London", "Mistress Frankenstein" and the "The Erotic Witch Project" Series. Anyone looking for more info on Darian or her films, can visit her at her IMDB page or her official website.
Q: Darian, can you explain how you first got into the movie business?
A: A scout from a company in the city gave me a card at a dinner I was at with some friends. I auditioned in the city at the company. They sent me on so many casting calls for main stream work. I shot shoe catalogues, lingerie catalogues, jewelry catalogues, primary extra work on NYBD Blue and Law and Order. Finally I sat for a cartoon artist nude. I said this is great, this is what I want to do. I meet a young guy on a set for Law and Order who told me of another agent in the adult world. I meet with him right away. My first soft-core movie was with Seduction Cinema’s Alien Encounter; Girl Explores Girl. I knew this is what I wanted to do. I was working every day. Between Adult magazines and soft-core film shoots traveling everywhere.
Q: Can you please tell me a little bit about your film “Fist of the Vampire"?
A:Fist was the second indie film I did for Killerwolf Film. Len Kabasinski the director told me there would be a lot more blood and I would get to fight. I could not wait. He also brought in a new special effects makeup artist Ricky Lee that I believe did a tremendous job. Len was amazing at coordinating the fight scenes. Even when you were not in the scene you wanted to be behind to watch. The first part of the film was set in the seventies very grindhouse style then speeds up to present day. I played a Vampire along with Len and the Blue Meanie. We ran this fight club style racket along with drug to make money. In the end a cop (Brian Anthony) whos family we killed back in the 70’s went undercover as a fighter to figure it out and kill us off.
Q: Knowing how movie reviews may skew the perception of one's product, give us in your own words what you want people to know about the film.
A: This was the director Len’s first film with green screen and that much special effect’s. I believe the reviewers have to do there job whether they knew this was a first or not. I have worked on so many films where the plot is so conclusive and monotone. Len has a gift for writing amazing story lines with such intensity and know one can say he does not get that across. When you can say as a actress you really felt that character you know you had a great story writer and director.
Q: If there were one part of the filming that was more difficult than you expected, what would that be? Getting a costume to work? Appearing in a certain scene? Certain lines?
A: I would have to say the fight scenes. They are intense. Len is all about this. Even though he is a great coordinator and teacher on this they are tough. He does write the scene for a gender.
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about the first “Erotic Witch Project” movie? What attracted you to the movie?
A: This was the third movie I did with Seduction Cinema. A little bit about the first years with EI Cinema… John Bacchus calls “Darian we are shooting a parody on the Blair Witch Project, I need you for these days.” Me “ok cool, I will go see the film, What do I need to bring” that is how it went the first several films.
Q: Did you have any hesitation about appearing in any of the sequels? Are there any plans for more of them?
A: Never! I would shoot almost anything with John. His sets are such a good time. When he stopped writing and directing for EI for a little bit things got so strict and corporate. It was a big mess. Executive producer, Line producer, production manager, vice production manager, art director, makeup department, stand around crew. You get the point?
Q: Of the 4 films (including “Lust in Space”), which was your favorite one, and why?
A:I would say the first. It was like real time with real people and real fire. Oh and lets not forget sex with Katie and Victoria.
Q: Looking back, I see that you’ve also appeared in “Lust for Dracula,” “Mistress Frankenstein,” “Apartment of Erotic Horror,” and “An Erotic Werewolf in London.” Can you tell me a little about each one?
A:Lust for Dracula was an adventure; Mistress of Frankenstein was the most fun I ever had. It took 3 hours to get one scene shot because of laughter. Apartment of Horror lets just say nothing and I don’t remember Erotic Werewolf, it was shot almost 9 years ago. I do remember shooting in a chiropractor’s office.
Q: Are there certain films you enjoy doing? You’ve appeared in some films with some horror elements in them but overall they are quite diverse (“Sexy American Idol,” “Kinky Kong,” “The Seduction of Misty Mundae”) and just look like you’re out to have some fun. What do you look for when picking films?
A:I love being able to improv and play off other characters in the comic parody films. When it comes to horror and action films I look for character dynamics and the plain erotic films I have to be into the other women.
Q: Looking back at your work, what has been the best or most interesting movie shoot you were on?
A:There are to many to put here. I have much fewer that are not interesting.
Q: Is there any movie director or producer you really want to work for one day?
A: I cant really say. I have not gave it much thought. I am real happy with who I have already work with.
Q: What other projects have you been working on recently?
A: Warriors of the Apocalypse; Killerwolf films. Batebabe the Dark Nighty; Seduction Cinema, Tricks; RNG Films.
Q: What's next for you? If you and I were to talk 1 year from today, what do you think would be on your plate at that time?
A: I am putting most my time into Darian Caine’s Darkside Vixens. Its an open to give all those new face girls a chance to be seen and if they want to do what I have done. I am shooting for this all the time. Hopefully most the dvd’s will get picked up from distribution like my first title My Pleasures.
Q: Anything you wish to add for my readers and visitors? Something special about you that they probably do not know?
A: I love to cook and right not my dog’s want to take a hike because I have been at the computer writing to you.
Q: Finally...this is an "Obscure Horror Movie" website. Can you name the last horror movie you watched either at the theatres or on dvd, etc? How about name a favorite horror film that you have seen that most people probably haven't seen?
A: 1408; I enjoyed it a lot. Everyone knows my favorite; Evil Dead. But if you have not seen it get "Eating Pattern" its almost scifi but it is great.
Q: Thank you very much for doing this.
