- Damien Colletti has appeared in several movies, including "Malevolent Ascent", "Bloodbath in the House of Knives", "Law Abiding Citizen", and "Methodic". Anyone looking for more info on Damien or his films, can visit him at his IMDB page or his

Q: Mr. Colletti, can you explain how you first got into the movie business?
A: Please, call me Damien…...You could say the movie or entertainment business was always in my blood since my mother was a theater actress and my dad a singer and songwriter. One day I finally had the drive and desire to be an actor and in movies and I just did it! The first movie I was ever in was “Invincible” starring Mark Wahlberg and I played an Eagles football fan in the film. After that I did a few short films and before you knew it I was being cast regularly in films and TV shows.
Q: Would you please explain your acting role in "Bloodbath in the House of Knives."
A: I play sleazy pornographer/drug dealer/kingpin, Nick Lemenza in the film. The film stars the beautiful and talented Italian actress Anne Reiss who plays “Ivy”. The film also features Lloyd Kaufman of Troma Films (Toxic Avenger). Although in this film, Lloyd has a serious role and this is a murder mystery horror film. You could say my character has a past relationship with Ivy and recently did her and her sister Violet a favor that they’d rather have no one else know about. Capisca? The film is written and directed by Ted Moehring for Swamp Picnic Productions. We’re currently filming but it’s almost completed.

Q: Knowing how movie reviews may skew the perception of one's product, give us in your own words what you want people to know about the film.
A: Well, the movie is about deceit, long kept secrets, and grisly murders that start to pile up quickly around the character “Ivy” soon after she visits a hypnosis demonstration. I can assure viewers that there will be plenty of blood and some great FX in the film. The director takes a lot of pride in his FX to make the fight and death scenes look as realistic as possible and hired a great FX crew to help bring his vision to life.
Q: If there were one part of the filming that was more difficult than you expected, what would that be? Getting a costume to work? Appearing in a certain scene? Certain lines?
A: Well, you always encounter small problems when working on a film. It’s just a matter of if you have a strong enough cast to help overcome those problems, which we did. Anne Reiss and Daniel Reiss (who plays “Pete” the Cop) help support this theory on set.
Q: I see that you’ve also appeared in other films. Can you tell me a little about each one and your experience with it? First, “Malevolent Ascent.”
A: I have the lead in this thriller film and play "Damon" in it. Damon is a split personality, demented, or maybe misunderstood, now present day mental patient. At one time he was highly regarded and meant something to many and greatly contributed to the world. The world he believed needed saving. The film was written for me to play this role based on meeting with the director and his viewing and greatly liking my previous work. I knew this was a character I could play well. The film was written and directed by Dave Wascavage for Troubled Moon Films. Dave's plot for the film on the website reads as follows, "Strangers in an elevator. A patient in a straightjacket. An incident that will change their lives forever." The film is now wrapped and we hope to have a trailer out for it in July.

Q: How about "Maniac Cop" (2008)?
A: “Maniac Cop” is a short film I was in that was produced by Blinky Productions. From this we’re hoping to be able to get the rights to the original 1988 horror film starring Bruce Campbell and re-make it. This was really great and a lot of fun to work on. I must admit it’s a really impressive short film done by the modern day John Carpenter, director Chris R. Notarile. If we get the rights I’ll have a bigger role in the full length film. I play the 1st Mugger in this short.

Q: How about “Elektra”?
A:
“Elektra: The Hand & The Devil” was another Blinky Production short film done by Chris which starred Kim Santiago as “Elektra”, Adam Shorsten as “Daredevil”, and myself as “Bullseye”. This was great to work on because I really enjoy Super-Hero movies and hope to star in a full length one sometime that will be in theaters.

Q: And finally, “Law Abiding Citizen”
A:
Ahh, “Law Abiding Citizen”, good times! Lol. Movie stars Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler. I played Officer Bruno in the film. In my main scene I was with the director, F. Gary Gray, who was acting in the film. Gary and I walk out of a Prison through a crowd of Police and news teams to give Jamie Foxx and Colm Meaney important evidence which alters the story of the film. Gary speaks with Jamie, I give Colm an evil stare, Gary pats me on my chest, then we go on our way whispering in each others ears. It was definitely a lot of fun hanging out with Gary and talking to him for most of this shooting day.
Q: You’ve also appeared on the TV show: “Forensic Files". How did you get involved with that? Was it fun? Worthwhile?
A:
Yes, it’s always a great time and interesting when I work on an episode of “Forensic Files”. Jen Nagy from Pro Model & Casting Agency is the one who always casts me for the episodes. I’ve worked on three different episodes with them so far. They are always great to work with and are very professional. I’d work with them anytime! Also, I’ve got to work with some of my good acting friends Mike Wilson and Paul Warren in episodes so that’s always fun and a plus too.
Q:If you could choose only one type of art (tv, movies, etc) to continue working on, what would you choose?
A: Their both great to work on, but I think I would chose movies over TV.
Q: What's next for you? Can you tell me what you have going on in 2009?
A: Well, just a few days ago (June 7, 2009) I made my debut in the wrestling world as ring announcer, Psycho Cowboy, for ECPW / UWF Wrestling. Freddy “Fast Fingers” Colletti performed his famous star spangled banner interpretation on guitar and the event headlined ECW legend Justin Credible vs Nunzio. WWE veteran The Patriot was also in action that night. This was really a lot of fun and I hope to do more of that in the future. I’ll be working with Chris R. Notarile on a film called, “Stretch Armstrong” soon. Also, I’m in talks with a few directors as we speak about being in their films. So, I always have something going on, and that’s the way I like it!
Q: If you and I were to talk 1 year from today, what do you think would be on your plate at that time?
A: On my plate? That’s an easy one since it’s usually Taco Bell. But, if you mean acting wise, probably just bigger roles in bigger films. Since I just want to keep growing in this industry. Also, the Wrestler known as the “Young Dragon” has already asked me to manage him so I hope to have a few matches doing that between today and then as well.
Q: Is there any movie director or producer you really want to work for one day? Or perhaps any actors or actresses you’d like to star with in a film?
A: Director/writer wise I’d like to work with James Cameron and Jason J. Dale. To be in a Terminator style movie that James Cameron created would be great. Jason J. Dale just wrapped up his new film, “Fight the Panda Syndicate”, and I’d like to be a part of the 2nd one in the series. Hopefully King Kong Bundy who was in the 1st film will be in the 2nd one and I could have an intense climactic fight scene against him. Actor wise I’d like to work with Tony San Miguel. I like what I’ve seen of his work and think we’d make a great team in a movie together. I’d also like to co-star with Mark Wahlberg in a movie one day. Lastly, I’d like to work with Brandon Slagle again. The first time I worked with him in “Methodic” I was kind of just starting out as an actor. If somebody cast Brandon and myself as co-leads in a movie, I think it would be huge!
Q: Are there certain types of films you enjoy doing? What do you look for when picking projects?
A: I enjoy being in all different kinds of films. But, the ones I enjoy the most are thriller type films that make you think and have a good mystery to them. Keep you on the edge of your seat. Which leads to me most enjoying doing intense and dramatic scenes in movies. Also, any film that allows me to do some improv acting since that’s one of my strengths and allows me to really get into character. So, if a movie has any of that in it, then I’m down! Also, I’d like to say I’d really like to be a part of a post-apocalypse type of movie sometime since I haven’t yet.
Q: Anything you wish to add for my readers and visitors? Something special about you that they probably do not know?
A: When I was younger, before I did acting, myself and my good friends Hans Deppenschmidt and Brian Lessman used to go to Genos and Pats Steaks in Philadelphia, PA a lot. At Genos they have pictures of celebrities behind glass on the walls. We used to bring pictures of ourselves, sign them, and then squeeze them between the sides of the glass where all the signed pictures of the other celebrities were. We’d always put them next to Bill Clinton and Opera Winfrey’s pictures. The last picture we put there was one of a dog in the air catching a frisbee that read, “Much respect to Genos”, signed as “Fido”, the dog. All our pictures used to stay up there anywhere from 6 months to 3 years. Good times!
Q: Finally...this is an "Obscure Horror Movie" website. Can you name the last horror movie you watched either at the theatres or on dvd, etc? How about name a favorite horror film that you have seen that most people probably haven't seen?
A: Hmm, had to think, not sure what is the most recent horror film I’ve seen. But, I saw “My Bloody Valentine” (1981) a few months ago and that was really good. I like the classic horror films like that. Which brings me to “Eaten Alive” (1977) which is a great horror film that many may have not seen. Robert Englund who I like a lot was great in this film too. Actually, I just recommended it to my friend Dave Sitbon recently who then purchased it! If I had that movie in front of me now I’d probably be watching! Lol. I think “Maniac Cop” (1988) is a great horror film too incase somebody never saw it.
Q: Thank you very much for doing this.
A: No, thank you! I had a lot of fun and we’ll have to do it again sometime!
