Summary: In the excavation of Pompeii, a stone-encrusted body is found with a bronze medallion bearing a strange Etruscan inscription. Carlo Fiorillo, an Italian archaeologist, speculates the robust body may hold some life; medical researcher Paul Mallon scoffs at the idea. But people left alone with the seemingly petrified "faceless man" keep dying of crushed skulls; and Paul's artist fiancée Tina starts having strange visions

Overall: I just found it to be a very silly film with some really bad acting. Yes it was the 50’s but there was nothing redeeming here.

I’ve been to Pompeii actually and it’s a very fascinating place if you can visit it as a tourist. Looking at the ruins, the devastation, the speed at which everyone was obliterated because of the blast…jus mind boggling.

Now the film tries to use the scientific facts to its advantage and I’ve got no issues there, really. But it’s just a wanna-be “mummy” film and you gain nothing of value by watching it.

Comparison: The Mummy’s Tomb meets The Mummy
