- written June 15th, 2011

- Crystal Swarovski has appeared in a few movies, including "Burlesque Massacre". Anyone looking for more info on Crystal or her films, can visit her at her IMDB page.

Q: Ms. Crystal, can you tell me a little bit about yourself and how you first got involved with Burlesque dancing?

A: I started doing burlesque in NYC about a decade ago. I took a trip to Paris and saw the shows at the “Moulin Rouge” and the “Crazy Horse.” I was so impressed with the beautiful women and knew I wanted to work in erotic dance and performance art. I then started performing burlesque from the help of Polly Peabody, who is also in “Burlesque Massacre” and dancing in the band “Erocktica.”

Q: Would you please explain your role in "Burlesque Massacre."

A: I play Crystal, leader of a burlesque troupe that goes on tour. My character loves the spotlight, and will keep it, whatever it takes. I take the girls to my brother’s house to spend our days off. That’s where things start to get crazy.

Q: Knowing how movie reviews may skew the perception of one's product, give us in your own words what you want people to know about the film.

A: If you like Boobs and Blood, and appreciate the lower budget horror movies from the 1980s, “Burlesque Massacre” is for you. It doesn’t set out to be high art. It is a lot of fun to watch and it was a lot of fun to make.

Q: If there were one part of the filming that was more difficult than you expected, what would that be? Getting a costume to work? Appearing in a certain scene? Certain lines?

A: Did we have lines? Did we wear clothes? It was so much fun. I don’t think there was anything too difficult, except the fact that we took our time. It seemed as if it would never get done. When we do BM II we’ll definitely try to shoot the meat of it all within two weeks, instead of over a year.

Q: Was there any one day, one moment where you just knew the film would work the way you thought it could?

A: I think we all questioned whether or not the movie would get finished or if it would be good, when we started seeing some of the edited footage, we all got really excited.

Q: Looking back, I see that you’re working on a few other films. Can you tell me a little bit about some of your other work?

          1) Eyes of the Woods

A: In Eyes of the woods a group goes camping in the woods, to never be seen from again. I am one of the first to go, killed by the monster in the woods. I am excited to see this movie get finished, because my death is pretty gruesome. There’s a lot of blood involved. The writing on this one is also very good for a horror film.

          2) Man of the Crowd

A: Man of the Crowd is more of a ghost story, taking place in a theater, with the ghosts of its different performers. I make an appearance as the ghost of a burlesque dancer, haunting the halls of an old theater with a trained dove, that I performed with when I was still alive. I hear Man of the Crowd is completely edited, so I look forward to seeing it very soon.

Q: I saw that you’ve also done a lot of performances around the world. Can you explain a little bit about what you’ve done and where people may have seen you work?

A: I toured many years around Europe with “Erocktica.” I more recently have been work shopping a rock musical I wrote called “Kubrilesque.” It is a chronological parody of the films of Stanley Kubrick. We also started filming the movie version this spring.

Q: What's next for you? Can you tell me what else you have going on in 2011?

A: In 2011, I hope to have solid plans set for BM II and Kubrilesque, even if it’s just the plans for 2012, but I am also back in school as a Pre Law major, so I keep busy.

Q: Is there any movie director or producer you really want to work for one day?

A: I love boobs and blood, but I am also a huge nerd, if they ever made another “Star Wars” movie, I would love to be in it, even if I can only get a role as an alien in the background.

Q: Finally...this is an "Obscure Horror Movie" website. Can you name the last horror movie you watched either at the theatres or on dvd, etc? How about name a favorite horror film that you have seen that most people probably haven't seen?

A: It’s so hard to pick just one horror movie, because I love so many. I just made some friends watch “Suicide Club.” I think it’s a great movie because the death scenes are very creative. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s a great one.

Q: Thank you very much for doing this.
