Summary: The film is about reincarnation and takes place in a purgatory where the dead still have human form and the world around them looks the same as the living world. However, the people living in this purgatory start to develop animal instincts. Gene, a retiree vacationing in Baja, is learning the instincts of a spider through his dreams and stumbles upon a woman who is destined to be reborn as a caterpillar/moth. The film explores a world where human and animal intertwine as one.

Overall: Let’s start off with...this is not a film you can just watch one time and “get it.” It’s a very complex film, with lots of imagery, very slow film to get to its point and frankly, will require you to be fully ready to digest an imaginative and intuitive film. It’s not for those looking for a fast 90 minute film that will just be action-packed and end for ya. The film really takes a lot of effort to truly understand, and I’m still not sure I am there. I think for me, the film’s pacing was just too slow. I totally understand what the film was trying to do but I do know that I may not be the target audience for this film. I can appreciate a very thought-out film as much as the next person but I think as part of my job, I will want you to eventually get to the point. For me, the film was “ok.” But that’s me...I do think the film is a winner in that everyone should grab themselves a copy, sit down and go for it. If 2nd or 3rd viewings are required, I’m sure it’ll make the film’s director, all the happier. But don’t get this film thinking it’ll be a Hollywood production that requires no thought. That attitude will not help your enjoyment of this film. Go in with an open mind, lots of time and be prepared to use that noggin!
