Cheerleader Massacre (2003)

Ms. Henricks is a cheerleader coach who has taken her team into the California mountains on the way to a sporting event. Needless to say the van breaks down and the group finds an abandoned house to try and stay in until they can get help. But a killer has followed them and he is targeting nubile young women.
Overall: This is one of the latest films from the director who brought you Sorority House Massacre 2 & 3 as well as the Bare Wench film series. But the film is more notable for the fact it used scenes of Slumber Party Massacre 1 and had Brinke Stevens reprise her role as Linda (albeit living now - she died in SPM1). The film is even more notable for the fact that the cheerleading coach, Tammie Sheffield, won the 4 stunt episode of “Fear Factor” in March 2003 (link below). She’s a former female wrestler and all around buff chick and in this film, you do see a long shower scene. Don’t ever say you never saw a person from “Fear Factor” in the nude. I also caught the commentary on the film and I’d probably have ripped this film a new one without watching it - but don’t get me wrong, I’m gonna be very critical. Obviously Jim Wynorski was looking for another chance to take some blonde busty ladies and get them to take their clothes off while still attempting to give the audience a good time. That and Tammie now is more popular than ever. So the film isn’t quite taking itself seriously but the usage of the SPM scene is reprehensible. Essentially Jim has made this another sequel to the series but not only using the footage but making reference to the killer (now named McPherson) as coming to finish Linda off once and for all (she died in SPM anyway). The film has a nice twist towards the end though - won’t give it away but it restored a bit of faith for me in Jim, that he has some imagination. And he does actually say that only Tammie (of all the ladies in the film) isn’t “100% natural.” Comparison: Slumber Party Massacre meets Bring It On |
