Summary: Fashion model, Jennifer Tree has it all: she appears on covers of hundreds of magazines. But she’s feeling a little lost and then, while out alone at a charity event in Soho, Jennifer is drugged and kidnapped. Held captive in a cell, Jennifer is subjected to a series of tortures. Someone wants to play with her, scare her, hurt her, and has no problem doing so! Only question ism, how soon will she die and end this misery?
Overall: I thought the beginning of the film was quite good, quite intense and very sadistic. Some tough scenes there!!!! But then she finds another kidnapped individual and frankly, it slows down, sorta loses focus and drifts down a different path. Now the film wants to have a moral to the story, wants to show us a different sort of ending and indeed it does. Problem is, none of the endings really work. The original not the 2 listed as deleted scenes. Without giving it all away here, let’s just say…they still didn’t match up with the rest of the film. I think the writers had an ending and a basic plot and tried to weave the two things together. I just think when you look at the woven piece of fabric, it doesn’t look like anything recognizable. But I do like Elisha Cuthbert but where is Jack Bauer when you need him? Comparison: Hostel meets Saw |
