Summary: Agnes is a lonely woman looking to just survive each day and not meet up with her ex, who is looking for her and that’s not a good thing. She’s been a victim of emotional and physical abuse and into her life comes a very nice, gentle war veteran. They hit it off, both very insecure and soon find each other as the salvation they need. But the vet has a problem which he didn’t tell Agnes, until after love-making., He believe the government has infect him with aphids…which now are infesting the room and her too. Soon they’re battling this invisible problem with every trick they can find, no matter what it takes, including their own skin!
Overall: This is a trippy film. It’s more psychological thriller than anything. Don’t expect true “bugs” as opposed to people believing they’re being eaten by practically invisible bugs. The real question is, do these bugs exist? It’s an intense film for sure, but I did have some issues. They never truly explained what was up with the mysterious phone calls. I’m not sure I believe that Agnes could go full blown into his conspiracy theories that quickly into the relationship. Sure I buy her wishing to protect him, since she had an abusive guy previously so she doesn’t want anything to happen to guy #2. But by the end of the film, it’s way, way, way “out there” with how far those 2 have gone into “lunacy world” and I can’t buy that she is this deep into it just days after meeting him. And frankly, the pathetic thing is…by the end you’re almost rooting for Jerry, the abusive ex, to save her from the new guy. He’s the most sane of the 3 of them, which is actually pathetic!
