The Bloody Brood (1959)

Summary: Nico is just a gangster who enjoys drug dealing and killing people. But he’s gotten himself hooked up with beatniks whose presence is allowing him to disappear when the cops come looking. However one murder they’re responsible for, has the victim’s brother looking for revenge. And he’s found Nico. Problem is, Nico knows who he is.           Overall: Nice appearance by everyone’s favorite TV detective, Peter Falk. It’s an amusing film that even at 66 minutes, feels too long. Not enough is ever going on to keep the film from being too slow and frankly, they didn’t utilize the beatnik storyline enough for me…once we realize the front for drugs, everyone disappears.           Comparison: A Bucket of Blood meets Colors
