Summary: Rayne is a Dhamphir, born both human and vampire and existing as both. She can walk in the sunlight but also needs to drink blood. Rayne makes an escape from the circus where she has been imprisoned as a freak attraction and sets forth to find one of the world’s most powerful vampires, whom she believes is responsible for her mother’s death. She is pursued by a group of vampire hunters but eventually agrees to a truce with them to battle the all-powerful vampire ruler Lord Kagan.

Overall: Well let’s start with the fact I am among the many reviewers who do not like the director Uwe Boll. He’s produced some God awful stuff. And frankly for those who like to pick on Ed Wood...hey, he didn’t even have a budget. This guy has the budget, studio-backing and still produces really bad films. I think he’s not just the worst out there but rivaling Jeremy Isbell as worst of all-time. But unlike Jeremy, again Uwe has the cash to at least give a better effort.

Now with all that said, the film isn’t as bad as his previous efforts. And frankly, if there was better acting, the film would have simply been mediocre. I think even with the lackluster plot...scenes that don’t appear connected to anything, the acting is really the film’s problem. And to think the cast is actually sorta nice: Ben Kingsley, Michael Madsen, Kristiana Loken, among others. We have a nice cast and some decent talent...depending on the role you liked for Billy Zane. But boy did they play down to their competition. All of them are just awful, not allowing you to believe in their characters and frankly Kristiana was so much more impressive in “T3” than in this film. Here she appears miscast or underwhelmed by her character. Overall it’s a very skippable film.
