Fuad Ramses is back, or at least Fuad the III is back and has re-opened his granddad’s store. And we also have a mother looking to give her daughter a party, a wedding reception actually. The bodies start to pile up as the wedding party starts to dwindle and soon the daughter Tiffany won’t have any bridesmaids left. The police suspects Fuad from the start but there is always something that just doesn’t add up. Maybe Fuad didn’t do it. Maybe Fuad is innocent? Maybe the cops are morons and Fuad might actually get away with it, this time.
Overall: You really don’t need to see the first film to understand this movie, but I’d still recommend it. This is a campy comedic sequel to what was more of a serious film the first time around. But I liked this movie and I don’t like too many comedic horror films (Jack Frost 2 & Psycho Beach Party are the others). The lines are funny, the ideas are unique and frankly, it’s a fun film. I didn’t think anyone could out-do the gore from part 1 and once again I was mistaken. They truly eclipsed part 1 with this film. Loved the one-liners aimed at Emeril Lagasse as well as the appearance by John Waters. I loved the characters names: Bambi, Deere, Laci Hundies (say this out loud), Candi Gram & Detective Loomis & Michael Myers. Although many of the props and outfits are totally 60’s-ish, it still plays well. If you enjoy cheesy gore then the hot gloves, eye-scooper and tongue depressor scenes are pluses for you. And the film doesn’t forget the nudity...there is a lingerie shower for the bride-to-be. Shame that some people couldn’t leave the shower in one piece!
