Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows (2000)

A Burkittsville resident who runs tours into the woods to do "on-the-spot" tours of where the famous incident occurred, has 4 more tourists to take. Or shall we say the first 4 tourists on his "inaugural" run. Once at the spot where the infamous cabin was, they decide a night of drinking and drugs will put them in the right mood. But, by morning there is a serious gap in their memories and only their own video tapes can solve it. But one by one they all start to lose it mentally and everyone begins to turn on one another. Is one of them the Blair Witch all dressed up in disguise or has the witch transformed them into
psychotic killers?
Overall: This film was just god-awful. I sat through this in the theatres and couldn't wait to get out. The above plot summary was probably the most concise summary written for the movie. Why u ask? Because there is no story. It is filled ½ with flashbacks and another ½ of new scenes in case u didn't believe in the flashbacks. Essentially this is a 45 min film with another 45 min of additional scenes. Just when you see 2 people killing another, you get to see it with the one person killing the other 2. The film is so mixed up it appears more as some Metallica music video rather than a film. I know a lot of people said part 1 had no story, well if that is the case, that film was an Oscar award winner in comparison to this. So what is the real story? 5 adults going insane? 5 adults being bewitched and going insane? Or just 5 adults who aren't even sure they are insane? You tell me. (10/03) After the success of part 1, part 2 was rushed to production with a part 3 due to show the "in-depth" history of the Blair Witch back in "the day." 5+ years later and nothing. This 2nd film was a terrible film with no real thought put into it and it got sooooo slammed by critics and viewers that there may never be a part 3. Comparison: Phil Collins' "Billy Don't Lose my Number" meets "I Spit on Your Grave" |
