Summary:
Billy is ready to come home for Christmas but first he has to escape the mental institution he is in. But his home is not a sorority house for the local college and being it’s Christmas and everyone has dysfunctional home lives, it’ll be an inhabited home. And all Billy wants is some family time…
Overall: The film definitely had its variations from the original including the fact that half of this film is background on Billy and the family. In many ways I liked the additional story but it became too much. We didn’t get enough on our actresses or got to care about them at all. And frankly by the time the film is done, that house just seemed way too large to be realistic! I liked the casting decisions but I thought the film overextended itself and lost effectiveness. I’ll give it credit for some good inventive death scenes but other wise, nothing special here. Comparison: Black Christmas (1974) meets Porky’s |
