- Beverly Lynne is the star of many movies, including "The Bewitching" and "Haunting Desires." Anyone looking for more info on Beverly or her films, can visit her at her IMDB page or her myspace page or her official website.
This interview was a long time in the making. E-mails, plenty of voice messages but alas, we got it done. And totally worth the wait!!!
Q: Ms. Lynne, can you explain how you first got into the movie business?
A: When I lived on the east Coast I first got started with commercials. Eventually I got a job in the NFL and opened my eyes to other opportunities. When I moved to the West Coast I got involved more and have really enjoyed it.
Q: I noticed that you were an NFL Cheerleader for a few years. Did you specifically want to work for that team, or did you try for any other organizations?
A: Well I got a job with the Eagles which is where I lived on the East Coast If I got a job with another team, I’d have had to move. I figured if I could do this, it open so many other doors.
Q: Did you enjoy your experiences?
A: It was awesome. The best 3 years. I wish every young woman could experience it. It was so rewarding. You had pull within the community and just so fulfilling.
Q: Can you please tell me a little bit about your film "Haunting Desires"?
A: One of the first films I did with Fred Olen Ray. "Tomb of the Werewolf" was the first film of his. I was very nervous but it was a lot of fun. Shot in 5 days. Evan was great. At first I was intimidated by him but after awhile I learned he was just a big fun guy.
Q: Give us, in your own words, what you want people to know about this film.
A: The scene where I am drunk on the stage was very difficult. It was very hard to do. I get dragged by vampires and I got hurt. I tried not to cry but that scene really hurt.
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about "Emmanuelle vs. Dracula"?
A: Awesome experience. The whole year they shot 7 of these films ("Emmanuelle the Private Collection"). I was in 3 of them ("Jesse’s Secret Desires" & the "Sex Lives of Ghosts"). Same house for all of them, in the Hollywood Hills. It was an odd house being so tall and skinny and they even had the wardrobe department on the roof of the house. It was quite fun and I loved getting all vamped up.
Q: Looking back, I see that you’ve also appeared in other films. Can you tell me a little about each one? First, "The Bewitching,"
A: Bewitching! Wow, where did u find that? It was a nightmare shoot. I almost broke my leg as my foot got caught in the floor. Ended up in a wheelchair. Small crew, 1st-time production.
Q: How about "Terror Toons"?
A: "Terror Toons" is one of my first movies. So nervous doing the film. But really enjoyed it. It was Easter weekend of 2001, shot in 3 days. It was very long shoots though, up to 20 hours a day and I was so spent by the end. Joe Castro though is very talented and it was a fun, fun film.
Q: And "Tomb of the Werewolf"?
A: Well it was the first film with Fred Olen Ray. I had worked with Kim at Playboy and she helped me get the role. With Fred Olen ray we did click though. And in the film is Paul Naschy and he was so nice. It was filmed at the Franklin House.
Q: Are there certain films you enjoy doing? You’ve appeared in some films with some horror elements in them but the rest tend to be diverse and just look like you’re out to have some fun. What do you look for when picking films?
A: I love comedy. I’m a big goofy person and very light-hearted. I like very simple films. My favorite are the comedic erotic films.
Q: What projects have you been working on recently?
A: Well as you know we just finished "The Atonement of Janis Drake." [see photos below] Also finished the 2nd Season of "The Lair" on HereTv. It’s a tv series about gay vampires. And also just finished a new Cinemax series called "Zane’s Sex Chronicles." Also we did "I.M. Caravaggio". I play a former model who is now a heroin addict who serves as a muse for a pianist.
Q: What’s next for you? If you and I were to talk 1 year from today, what do you think would be on your plate at that time?
A: Well I want my production company to do several psychological thrillers over the next year. We’d like to get 3 done by end of next year. Just building the company with Glen. And also an internet site. A sexy Cooking show which involves recipes, like aphrodisiacs, but something for couples to do together. I love cooking.
Q: Is there any movie director or producer you really want to work for one day?
A: Rob Zombie. I’d give my right arm to work for him. If he’s listening, I’m available. I can scream too. I don’t care!
Q: Anything you wish to add for my readers and visitors? Something special about you that they probably do not know?
A: Hm...well something only a few close family and friends know is I’m scared of crowds. What’s that called? And yeah, I was an NFL cheerleader but I just can’t be in big places with lots of people. Shopping during the holidays is hard.
Q: Did u always have this?
A: Yes, but it really escalated while I was a cheerleader. Large crowds really got to me. I’m also afraid of heights. I can’t even go on a stepladder. Glen has to get things for me.
Q: Finally...this is an "Obscure Horror Movie" website. Can you name the last horror movie you watched either at the theatres or on dvd, etc?
A: Last night we watched "The Ruins". We’ve been on a major Horror kick lately. I liked it. I like cheesy horror. Lots of blood and guts.
Q: How about name a favorite horror film that you have seen that most people probably haven’t seen?
A: "The Begotten". Black and white, it’s French. Not sure its horror but its creepy.
Q: Thank you very much for doing this.
A: Well thank you. I’m sorry it took so long but I’ll get the film "Atonement of Janis Drake to you soon."
Thank you Ms. Lynne very much for doing this.
