Summary:
Monica Rivers is the owner and ringmaster of a traveling circus and who'll stop at nothing to draw bigger audiences. When a series of mysterious murders begins to occur, her profits soar. She hires high-wire walker Frank Hawkins, and they begin an affair which enrages her previous lover Durando. When Durando is found dead shortly afterward, other performers begin to take alarm and many suspect Monica herself of the killings. But did she really do it? And if no, whom?
Overall: I ended up on some special “Joan Crawford in her 60’s” film kick during a 2 week span and so clearly didn’t see the best Joan had to offer. It’s not very scary or mysterious actually. Looking back, there are better circus film and no real reason to watch this film. I’d say “skip it.” Comparison: Freaks meets Wilder Napalm |
