Beef (2006)

Summary: "BEEF" is the story of Drew, a young man, bullied and abused throughout his life, who aspires to be a big strong body builder, but can't quite achieve his goals. His sanity ends when his girlfriend leaves him because he is too obsessed with being a health fanatic. He takes out his fears and anger on local bodybuilders, given new meaning to “You Are What You Eat.”           Overall: I liked the overall concept of the film thought it had some good ideas...but it got too long and spent too much time letting the bodybuilders pose for the camera. It almost seemed like this film would ct as the individuals chance for future stardom. That the homo-erotic undertones of the film distract from the “horror” side of the film. It’s nothing but scene after scene on a clothed bad guy seducing bodybuilders to disrobe down to no shirt and super tight undies and stand and pose for our bad guy. Scene after scene…just guys undressing left and right. And sure, if that’s what you want…enjoy it. I will say...when you figure out the twist...I was shocked. Spoiler . . . . . . . . . . Seemed to come out of nowhere for me…if only because that character gets so little screen time...you prob would miss them.           Comparison: The Brotherhood meets Pumping Iron
