Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (1953)

Summary: A ferocious dinosaur is awakened by an atomic test and decides to terrorize the North Atlantic and eventually New York City!           Overall: The film isn’t all that great I terms of its story or the acting. What it does have is some of single most unforgettable images from the old monster filmmaking. This “rhedosaurus” is iconic and that’s what makes the film special. Although Ray Harryhausen is special, famous and did such a tremendous job in his time, the truth is…the effects are a little silly as we pass through 2011. But it’s a fun film to look back and enjoy.           Comparison: King Kong meets The Thing from Another World
