Axe (1977)

Summary: Lisa and her invalid grandfather have just been visited by 3 criminals, on the run from the law. Once they go inside, they take control of the household, intending to milk the visit for all they can. Problem is, Lisa won’t take this lying down and she’s a lot more capable than they give her credit for. Better watch out!           Overall: I just found this film as a wanna-be “Last House on the Left.” It’s a slow film that finally picks up near the end. The fact the film was placed on the list of the “Vidoe Nasties” was probably the best thing that could have happened to the film. I truly wouldn’t have found it otherwise and frankly, outside of one scene, there’s not much here to object to. The best part of the film was the girl’s performance. Great job being creepy and all. But I think you should skip it. Just nothing much here otherwise to care about.           Comparison: Desperate Hours meets Last House on the Left
