April Fool's Day (2008)

Summary: Each April Fool's Day, wealthy young socialite Desiree Cartier hosts the best coming-out parties at her mansion. And this social event is never complete without one of her famous pranks. But when the joke turns deadly, Desiree, her brother, Blaine, and five of their friends all become the targets of a killer who is out for revenge.           Overall: So let me start off by saying the original film was a favorite of mine. Therefore I was going into this, upset at the proposition of a remake. And frankly...it isn’t. It’s a film with a similar ending and the same title and nothing else. Which I guess makes it all even worse after the fact! I think the big problem the film has...we all know how it’ll end...which makes the film simply not work. You’re trying to convince us all that these people are really dead... I think to have truly made the film work, would have been to redo this entire story! It’s straight out of “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” 1 year after a horrible accident, there are notes, dying 1 by 1 everyone involved...masked killer... It’s a copy with the original films’ ending tacked on. And the point was what?           Comparison: April Fool’s Day (1986) meets I Know What You Did Last Summer
