Summary: Oncilla has come across a special figurine that allows her to call Anubis, Egyptian God of the Dead. However to do this successfully, she needs a few friends to make it work. So with her boyfriend and 3 of his friends, they all go out into the middle of the woods. But once out there, nothing goes as planned and soon they must find a way to stop Anubis from killing them all.
Overall: The only connection that this film has to its predecessor is the fact it’s about something from Egypt and titles itself as a sequel. Other than that, it’s totally different. And don’t blame the director on this. Apparently he was happy with the original title until the distribution company got its hand on it. Nevertheless, the film still sucks just as much as the first one. What gets me is that the characters portray “Oncilla” as a hot girl...and I’m sure she is, in her own special way. But I’ll take Jen over her any day of the week, and twice on Sunday. The characters spend way too much time talking early on and much of that dialogue is inane and boring. In fact Oncilla’s character gets quite annoying due to all this. But I think what doesn’t help this film is that actors seem to have some good scenes showing their skills, followed by a scene looking plain awful. And the sound effects don’t help either. Weak, weak stuff. Skip it. Comparison: Ancient Evil meets Witchboard |
