Summary: Alicia and Joss have just landed in this small deserted Mexican town where not everything seems to be normal. And it’s gonna get even less normal as the day goes on. See, it’s that time of the year when the zombies come out and eat the living! And Joss’ only answer, is to bring a few more victims along for the ride!
Overall: The film starts off in an odd way. Many times you get a film showing us some old time period, before shifting us to the present day. Here we start with 1892, then 1950’s, then the present day. Seems sorta like the writers inabilities to justify an improved storyline by fitting those characters in somehow. They couldn’t and hence just added extra time periods for no reason whatsoever! I think the film is just sorts “blah” and “ok”…until our cheerleader decides to her magic. Now…we’ve been told she’s a cheerleader and before this scene, never shown or done anything to justify it. Now as she escapes the hotel and double flips off the roof, hopping into the car to escape…you just wonder “and when did she turn into a super hero?” Where did that come from? Cheerleader is not a synonym for “batgirl!” The films actually sorta suffers from too much info, too much story, too many different time periods and so by the end of the film, you sorta feel like maybe u missed something. Either way, not really a good film and fairly skippable! Comparison: Dawn of the Dead meets Chupacabra |
