Abbott & Costello meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1953)

Abbott & Costello are 2 bobbies in Britain who get into trouble for their part in trying to break up a Suffrage Movement protest. They eventually come into contact with Bruce and his girlfriend, Vicki who are planning on being married. However Vicki’s guardian, Henry Jekyll, is opposed to this and already due to his experiments uses his alter-ego to go after Bruce. Jekyll will soon also want the dynamic duo dead and be more than happy to lure them into a trap to do it.
Overall: This is an enjoyable film that basically is only for the die-hard fans of Abbott & Costello. Can’t imagine anyone else really going out of their way to watch this film. The film isn’t really close to Robert Louis Stevenson’s story in any way and instead makes Dr. Jekyll evil from the very start. I liked the scenes with Costello as a rabbit and the film has the usual humor for the duo. Karloff was interesting but obviously had better roles.
